1. You can live as an enemy of the Cross of Christ. An imitative Christian life. (vv. 18–19)

A. It is a popular way of life. (Prov. 14:12; Mat. 7:13–14)

B. It is a selfish way of life. (v. 19)

C. It is an arrogant way of life. (1 John 2:16)

D. It is a worldly way of life. (Mat. 13:22; Mat. 16:26; James 4:4)

E. It is a dead-end way of life. (v. 19)

2. You can live as a soldier of the Cross of Christ. A mature Christian life. (vv. 20–21)

A. You live to imitate Christ. (v. 17; 1 Cor. 11:1; Phil. 4:8–9)

B. You live as citizen of Heaven. (Phil. 1:27)

C. You live expectantly for a Savior. (v. 20)

D. You live steadfastly by faith. (Phil. 1:27–30)
