1. Attitudes that promote unity. (Vv. 1–3)

   2. Gentleness/meekness.

2. Truths that promote unity. (Vv. 4–6)

   1. We are all the same.

      1. We share the same identity. (V. 4)

      2. We share the same testimony. (V. 5)

      3. We share the same family. (V. 6)

Take–Away Truths – Five sins to avoid as God’s people:

1. Acting as though we do not have to accept different kinds of persons in our church. (Vv. 2–6)

2. Believing or acting as though everyone has to be like us. (Vv. 7–11)

3. Believing or acting as though we by ourselves are adequate to do what needs to be done. (Vv. 12–15)

4. Believing or acting as though we can do what Christ needs done without Christ. We are dependent on Him.

5. The belief that others have the gifts for the church and therefore I am not needed. We need each other!
