    1. When he heard of their faith.

    2. When he heard of their love.

  2. How does he pray? (V. 16)

    1. Without ceasing.

    2. With thanksgiving.

    3. With deep affection.

  3. To whom does he pray? (V. 17)

    1. To the Father. 

      (Matt. 6:9)

    2. To the Glorious Father.

  4. For what does he pray? What are his prayer priorities?

    1. That they would know Jesus intimately and personally. (V. 17)

    2. That they would know the hope of God’s call – what they are called to. (V. 18)

      (Rom. 8:29–30; 1 Pet. 1:15; Gal. 5:1; Col. 3:15; Eph. 4:1–2; 1 Pet. 2:21; Phil. 3:14)

    3. That they would know the riches of his inheritance – how much God loves them. (V. 18)

    4. That they would know the greatness of His power. (V. 19)
      (Col. 1:11, 29); Phil. 1:20; Eph. 1:20–23)

      1. Resurrection power.

      2. Sovereign power.
