1. In Jesus we have a distinctively different and better High Priest. (V. 1)

A. His authority and lineage for Priesthood. 

‍ ‍(Heb. 7:11, 13–17)

B. His Priesthood is permanent.

‍ ‍(Heb. 7:23–25)

C. His Priesthood is perfect.

‍ ‍(Heb. 7:26–28)

2. In Jesus Christ we have a Priest who is also a King. (V. 1)

‍ ‍(Ps. 110:1–4)

A. He is enthroned.

B. He is in power. 

‍ ‍(Rev. 1:17–18)

C. He is worthy of worship.

‍ ‍(Rev. 7:10–12, 15–17; Rom 5:9)

3. In Jesus we have a Priest who serves in a greater and higher sanctuary. (Vv. 2–5)

A. The earthly sanctuary was only a mere copy of the true sanctuary. (Ex. 25:40)

B. The heavenly sanctuary is the true presence of God.

C. His ministry as Priest is for us. (V. 6)

4. In Jesus we have a better and greater covenant and promises.

A. The law is now not over you but in you.

B. The Lord is now personally knowable to you.

C. Your sins are forgiven fully and definitively.
