1. How do I abide in jesus?

   A. You must put your faith in Jesus alone as your personal Lord and Savior. 

   (Acts 2:22–36, 38, 40; 3:19–20; 4:12; Rom. 10:9–13; 

   1 John 5:11–12)

   B. You must yield your life to Him in order to obey Him and know Him. 

   (Matt. 7:21–23; 7:24–27; Luke 6:46; 14:25–27)

   C. You must know His will so you may do His will.

   (John 15:7, 10, 14; 8:31–32)

2. How do I hear the word of God?

   A. Consume His word – hear it and read it.

   (Ps. 119; 9, 11; 19:7–14)

   B. Understand His word. 

   (John 16:13; 1 John 2:27)

   C. Apply His word. 

   (Matt. 11:28–29)

   D. Hear it in community. 

   (Heb. 10:19–25)

   E. Teach it to others. 

   (1 Tim. 4:8–13, 16; 2 Tim. 2:2; 3:14–17)

3. How do I surrender to it? 

   A. Deny self. (Luke 9:23)

   B. Die to self. (Gal. 2:20)

   C. Walk by the Spirit. (Gal. 5:16, 25)
