Discuss:

  • What children is the hymn calling to come?

    • Children of God. (grownups too!)

  • Where do we come to?

  • What does it mean to come to Jesus?

    • The verses of the song provide examples of what it looks like: “bring your troubles…lay down all your bitterness…Show the mercy shown to you”

  • "Peace on earth, good will to men... righteous rule that will not end" What do you think this means?

    • Talk about the meanings of the words but also point out that these verses are referencing scripture: a combination of the declaration of the angels to the shepherds (Luke 2:13-14) and the promise to Mary (Luke 1:32-33) about Jesus

Pray: What do you long for in the future?

  • If you long that they become wise and faithful lights in the world, tell them, and pray for it to happen!
